Auburndale boys basketball holds off Edgar, improves to 14-0

AUBURNDALE – Blake Anderson hit five 3-pointers and scored a team-high 17 points to lead the undefeated Auburndale boys basketball team to its 14th straight win, a 50-41 decision over Edgar in a Marawood Conference South game Friday night at Auburndale High School.

Auburndale, ranked third in this week’s WisSports.net Division 4 state coaches poll, improve to 14-0 and 9-0 in the Marawood South. Edgar remains in last place in the conference and drops to 4-8 and 1-8 in the Marawood South.

Ben Bolder added 13 points and Austin Hawkins had 11 for the Apaches.

Auburndale outscored Edgar 16-7 in both the first and third quarters to open up a double-digit lead.

Caden Untiedt had 22 points to lead the Wildcats.

Auburndale’s next game is Thursday at home against Wisconsin Rapids Assumption.
