AUBURNDALE – The Auburndale girls basketball team continued its hot streak, crushing Abbotsford 67-33 in a nonconference game Monday night at Auburndale High School.
The Apaches improve to 7-1 in their last eight games, and to 11-5 overall. Abbotsford falls to 12-5.
Auburndale is back in action Thursday at home against Pittsville.
Twelve different Apaches scored in the rout, led by Shannon Yanke, who had 15 points. Nicole Nikolay and Kendra Kundinger each added 12 points. Kundinger was 4 of 5 from 3-point range and Nikolay was 6 of 8 from the field.
Auburndale surged out to a 37-11 lead by halftime and was never threatened.
Kim Lecheler led Abbotsford with 17 points.
