SPENCER – After seeing its four-game winning streak snapped by Neillsville last week, the Spencer girls basketball team started a new streak, beating Gilman 46-35 in a Cloverbelt Conference East Division game Thursday night at Spencer High School.
The Rockets used an 18-4 advantage in the third quarter to turn a 24-18 halftime into a 36-28 advantage.
Sydney Kind had a season-high 17 points, making four 3-pointers for the Rockets, and Tara Matter added 15.
Spencer improves to 9-6 and 6-6 in the Cloverbelt East. Gilman falls to 4-11 and 1-11 in the conference.
Kendall Skabroud scored 15 points to top Gilman.
Spencer hosts Augusta on Tuesday.
