WEST BEND – The University of Wisconsin-Marshfield/Wood County basketball teams rolled again to a pair of victories, sweeping the women’s-men’s doubleheader at UW-Washington County.
The Marauders women won 78-55, while the men edged UW-Washington County 69-65.
Kaitlynn Mefferd led the UW-Marshfield women with 16 points, 13 rebounds and eight assists. She was 6 of 6 from the free-throw line as the Marauders were 16 of 17 overall.
Corrine Meacham added 15 points, Heather Adrian scored 14, Addi Vold had 13 and Brynn Salava had 11 points and 10 rebounds for Marshfield (17-2, 15-1 Wisconsin Collegiate Conference).
The Marauders men improve to 15-4 and 6-1 in the WCC. Cain Trunkel scored 12 points to top Marshfield.
The UW-Marshfield/Wood County women host UW-Manitowoc on Monday, and both teams play at UW-Marathon County in Wausau on Wednesday.
