Abbotsford pulls away in second half to top Spencer boys basketball

ABBOTSFORD – Abbotsford opened up a double-digit lead with a big third quarter and eased past Spencer 68-54 in a nonconference boys basketball game Tuesday night at Abbotsford High School.

Spencer led 36-34 at halftime before the Falcons rebounded with a 17-4 third quarter and pulled out the victory.

Spencer falls to 7-12 with the loss, while Abbotsford improves to 9-11.

Abbotsford shot 52 percent and had 13 made free throws, while the Rockets made just 37 percent of their shots from the floor and only had five free throws to provide the different.

Joe Meyers had 23 points to lead Spencer. He was 7 of 13 from 3-point range.

Nathan Kunze had 25 points and grabbed eight rebounds for the Falcons.

Spencer hosts Neillsville on Thursday.
