Spencer girls basketball blows out Granton

GRANTON – Spencer jumped out to an early lead and never looked back, blowing past Granton 54-17 in a Cloverbelt Conference East Division girls basketball game Thursday at Granton High School.

The Rockets led 12-2 after the first quarter and 25-8 at halftime as they rolled to their 10th win of the season. Spencer is now 10-7 overall and 7-7 in the Cloverbelt East. Granton drops to 1-14 and 0-13 in the conference.

Tara Matter had 16 points and nine rebounds, and Marisa Johnson scored a season-high 13 points for the Rockets.

Spencer is at undefeated Neillsville on Friday.
