Columbus Catholic boys basketball rips Granton

MARSHFIELD – The Marshfield Columbus Catholic boys basketball team jumped out to a big lead and cruised past Granton 70-41 in a Cloverbelt Conference East Division game Thursday night at Columbus Catholic High School.

Columbus led 25-15 after the first quarter and 41-15 at halftime on its way to its 15th win of the season. The Dons improve to 15-5 overall and 12-5 in the Cloverbelt East with a game at Spencer on Monday remaining on their conference schedule.

Jared Fleischmann scored 20 points and Jake Puent and Grant Cleveland each had nine points for the Dons.

Granton falls to 1-18 and 0-17 in the conference.

Monday’s game at Spencer will be broadcast on WDLB-AM 1450 and wdlbwosq.com with pregame starting at 7:15 p.m.
