Stratford boys basketball drops road game at Assumption

WISCONSIN RAPIDS – Wisconsin Rapids Assumption outscored Stratford by 17 points over the middle two quarters and beat the Tigers 47-28 in a Marawood Conference South Division boys basketball game Thursday night at Assumption High School.

Assumption outscored the Tigers 12-7 in the second quarter and 16-4 in the third to open up a 19-point lead.

Josh Paltz scored 22 points to lead Assumption (7-12, 4-8 Marawood South).

Assumption shot 49 percent (15 of 31) from the field, while Stratford was just 11 of 31 and 2 of 15 from 3-point range.

Travis Urlaub scored 10 points and grabbed seven rebounds, and Andrew Marcis had 11 rebounds for Stratford (13-6, 6-6 Marawood South).

Stratford plays at Auburndale on Monday. The game will be broadcast on WOSQ-FM 92.3 and wdlbwosq.com.
