MARSHFIELD – The Marshfield girls basketball team won for the second straight day, pummeling Ashwaubenon 49-25 in a nonconference game Saturday afternoon at Marshfield High School.
The Tigers improve to 12-8, while Ashwaubenon falls to 4-15.
Caitlin Michaelis scored 16 points and grabbed six rebounds to lead the Tigers.
Darian Molter added 11 points on 5 of 8 shooting, and three other Marshfield players scored six in the victory.
Marshfield held Ashwaubenon to just 26 percent shooting (10 of 39) and 1 of 19 from 3-point range.
Marshfield hosts Wisconsin Rapids as part of a girls-boys doubleheader on Thursday. The girls play at 6 p.m., with the boys to follow at 7:45 p.m. Both games will be broadcast on WDLB-AM 1450 and wdlbwosq.com.
The Tigers then finish their regular-season schedule Feb. 21 at Merrill.
