University of Wisconsin-Marshfield/Wood County men’s basketball team clinch WCC West title with win at UW-Baraboo

BARABOO – The University of Wisconsin-Marshfield/Wood County men’s basketball team wrapped up the Wisconsin Collegiate Conference West Division championship with a 76-65 win over UW-Baraboo on Wednesday.

Cain Trunkel had 14 points, Jesse Bejcek had 13 and Zach Zettler added 12 for the Marauders, who wrap up their regular-season schedule with an 18-4 overall record and a 9-1 mark in the WCC West.

The Marauders earned a No. 1 seed in the upcoming state playoffs and a first-round bye. Marshfield will hosts a playoff game on Feb. 20 against an opponent to be determined.
