Auburndale baseball loses at home to undefeated Pittsville

AUBURNDALE – Pittsville used a seven-run second inning and five-run third inning to blast past Auburndale 16-5 in a Marawood Conference South Division baseball game Monday at Auburndale High School.

Pittsville led 13-0 after 2½ innings and Auburndale couldn’t mount a comeback. The Apaches scored twice in the third and three times in the fourth before bowing out in five innings due to the 10-run rule.

Mason Kollross went 2-for-2 to account for two of the Apaches’ six hits. Blake Anderson had three RBIs and Ben Bolder added two RBIs for Auburndale (0-6, 0-5 Marawood South).

Pittsville improves to 4-0-1 and 3-0 in the Marawood South.

Auburndale plays at Wisconsin Rapids Assumption on Tuesday.
