Spencer softball moves to 12-0 in Cloverbelt East with two wins over Greenwood

SPENCER – The Spencer softball team continued its perfect Cloverbelt Conference East Division season with a doubleheader sweep of Greenwood on Friday.

The Rockets won 17-5 and 19-5 to improve to 12-0 in the conference and 13-3 overall.

Spencer plays Neillsville, which was 8-0 in the conference prior to a doubleheader against Owen-Withee on Friday, in another twinbill Saturday at Spencer.

Greenwood falls to 5-5 overall and in the conference.

Marisa Johnson, Sam Nikolay and Paige Johnson each had three hits in the opener as the Rockets pounded out 17 hits. Spencer had six doubles, a triple and Paige Johnson hit two home runs in the win. Johnson had five RBIs overall.

Marisa Johnson ripped a home run and had five RBIs, and Paige Johnson had a double, two singles and six RBIs in the second game for Spencer.
