Marshfield boys golf moves back into second in Wisconsin Valley Conference Tournament

WAUSAU – Marshfield placed third and regained second place in the overall team standings at the fourth leg of the Wisconsin Valley Conference Boys Golf Tournament on Friday at Greenwood Hills Country Club.

The Tigers shot a 340, three shots behind second-place Wisconsin Rapids. Stevens Point won the meet with a 304.

Marshfield was led by Josh Berres, who finished 11th with an 83. Kyle Hoffman added an 84, Craig Serchen fired an 86, Ian Pillai had an 87 and Evan Schneider shot an 89 for the Tigers.

Matt Sandquist of Wausau West was meet medalist with a 73. Stevens Point had the next four top scorers.

The fifth leg of the tournament is Tuesday at Stevens Point Country Club. Marshfield will compete in the Merrill Invitational on Saturday.
