AUBURNDALE – Ben Bolder had two hits and threw a five-inning complete game to lead the Auburndale baseball team to a 5-4 win over Stratford in a Marawood Conference South Division game Monday at Auburndale High School.
Stratford responded with a 4-3 win over the Apaches in a nonconference game in the doubleheader.
Auburndale scored three runs in the bottom of the fifth inning to earn the victory in the opener.
Bolder struck out five, walked three and allowed three hits to earn the win.
Blake Anderson, Bolder and Cody Steines each had two hits in the second game for Auburndale.
Austin Hawkins took the loss, giving up four runs in 4 2/3 innings. Stratford was the home team in the nonconference game and scored a run in the bottom of the fifth to grab the win.
Auburndale (2-8, 2-6 Marawood South) plays a nonconference game at Athens on Tuesday, while Stratford (4-4, 2-4 Marawood South) returns to action Thursday at Northland Lutheran.
