PEORIA, Ill. – Elliot Ashbeck, a 2012 graduate of Marshfield High School, has seen plenty of action this season as a member of the Bradley University baseball team.
As a freshman, Ashbeck has played in 25 games overall, nine in the field and 16 as a relief pitcher.
Ashbeck is batting .385 (5-for-13) with a double, two RBIs and five runs scored at the plate. Pitching, Ashbeck has appeared in 16 games, all in relief. He has thrown 28 2/3 innings with 23 strikeouts, 14 walks, an 0-1 record and a 5.65 ERA.
The Braves are 16-28 and 1-17 in the Missouri Valley Conference. They complete their regular-season schedule with three games at Indiana State on Thursday through Saturday, then will compete in the MVC Tournament at Illinois State in Normal, Ill., on May 21-25.
