AUGUSTA – Marshfield Columbus Catholic scored three runs in the top of the first inning but that is all it could muster in a 12-3 loss to Augusta in a Cloverbelt Conference East Division baseball game Tuesday at Augusta.
Augusta (2-6 overall and Cloverbelt East) responded with runs in five of the next six innings, including four runs in both the third and fourth and Dons’ pitcher Jeremy Binder.
Binder struck out five and did not walk a batter in the loss. He also had three hits, including a double, for Columbus (1-8, 1-5 Cloverbelt East). Alex Larson and Bryce DeSmet both had two hits for the Dons.
Columbus hosts Loyal on Thursday at 4:15 p.m. at Jack Hackman Field.
