Four members of the Marshfield boys golf team were named Academic All-State for the recently completed 2013 season.
Ian Pillai, Craig Serchen, Evan Schneider and Josh Berres were named to the Academic All-State Team by the Golf Coaches Association of Wisconsin.
Students are nominated if they have a cumulative grade-point average of at least 3.25, participate in at least 75 percent of the team’s varsity matches and are at least a sophomore in high school.
A record 300 male golfers from Wisconsin were honored this season for maintaining the high academic standards in the classroom while competing in varsity golf, the GCAW said in a release. The average GPA of the year’s honorees was 3.72.
