CHIPPEWA FALLS – The Marshfield American Legion baseball team improved to 12-4 with three wins at the Chippewa Falls Tournament on Saturday and Sunday.
On Saturday, the Blue Devils defeated Green Bay 5-2. Marshfield’s Aaron Schwecke tossed a complete game, allowing no earned runs.
On Sunday, Marshfield defeated Union Grove 11-4 and River Falls 4-3.
Alex Steines threw a complete game to earn the victory for Marshfield against Union Grove. Luke Wirtz had a double and a home run, and Bo Howard had three hits for the Blue Devils.
In the win over River Falls, Luke Wirtz tossed a complete game. Mitch Susa had the game-winning RBI hit in the seventh inning.
Marshfield hosts Eau Claire in a doubleheader at 5:30 p.m. Tuesday at Jack Hackman Field.
