MARSHFIELD – The Marshfield Junior Legion baseball team swept a doubleheader from Plover on Monday, beating the Black Sox 5-3 and 5-2, at Jack Hackman Field.
Sam Klein threw five innings to earn the win in the opener, with Jack Donahue striking out three over the final two innings to get the save.
Mitchell Susa had two hits, and Donahue and Cameron Swanson each had RBI singles for Marshfield
Susa tossed a complete game in the second game to get the win for the Blue Demons. He added two hits, as did Trevor Schwecke. Donahue had a go-ahead two-RBI single and Jeremy Brost added a double for the Blue Demons.
Marshfield improves to 9-7-1 and 7-3 in the Wisconsin Valley Legion League with the two victories.
The Blue Demons play a doubleheader at Merrill on Tuesday.
