EAU CLAIRE – Four Eau Claire pitchers scattered six hits and allowed just one run in a 5-1 win over the Marshfield Chaparrals in an amateur baseball game Thursday night at Carson Park.
Eau Claire scored single runs in the first, fourth, fifth, sixth and seventh innings against Marshfield starter Ryan Williams.
The Chaparrals (9-4) managed only one run in the seventh against Cavaliers reliever Yuji Nakajima, coming on an RBI triple by Bobby Gregorich.
Cale Tassi struck out seven and gave up two hits in five innings to earn the win for Eau Claire (27-9).
Marshfield is off until Wednesday when it hosts Waupaca at Jack Hackman Field.
