MARSHFIELD – Ryan Williams tossed six innings of four-hit, shutout baseball to lead the Marshfield Chaparrals to a 14-1 win over the Wausau Riverhawks on Wednesday at Jack Hackman Field.
Williams struck out five and walked just one to earn the win for the Chaparrals (10-4).
Marshfield scored four runs in the first and third innings, and five in the second to open up a 13-0 lead. The game ended via the 10-run rule after 6½ innings.
Kyle McHugh had a hit and four RBIs, Sam Schwanebeck had two doubles and three RBIs, and Bobby Gregorich had a single, a triple and two RBIs for Marshfield.
The Chaparrals had just eight hits, but took advantage of four errors and six walks by Wausau (9-4).
Marshfield is off until July 31 when it hosts Everest in its home finale at Hackman Field.
