COON VALLEY – The Marshfield Chaparrals amateur baseball team finished its 2013 season on a down note, losing both games of a doubleheader to Chaseburg-Coon Valley 3-1 and 7-3 on Saturday at Veterans Park.
Marshfield was held to four hits in the opener, two coming from Bobby Gregorich. Eric Pritzl knocked in the Chaparrals’ lone run in the fourth inning.
Ryan Williams tossed six innings in a complete-game effort but suffered the loss, giving up six hits while striking out four.
Corey Wilson and Brian Vike each had two hits for Chaseburg-Coon Valley, with Vike knocking in two of the Blues’ three runs.
CCV scored four runs in the second inning and three more in the fifth against Marshfield pitcher Eric Pritzl, who allowed 10 hits in six innings.
Gregorich and Austin Littmann each had two hits and an RBI for Marshfield, which scored all three of its runs in the top of the seventh inning.
Marshfield finishes its season with an 11-6 record.
