MarshfieldAreaSports.com and Zaleski Sports are proud to announce the return of the High School Athlete of the Month Award voting for the 2024-25 sports season.
Schierl Tire and Auto Service joins as a new sponsor for the award, which is in its 12th year.
Varsity athletes from the following high schools are eligible to be nominated for the Schierl Tire Athlete of the Month Award, which will be given out monthly from September 2024 through June 2025: Abbotsford, Assumption, Auburndale, Colby, Columbus Catholic, Edgar, Granton, Greenwood, Loyal, Marathon, Marshfield, Mosinee, Neillsville, Owen-Withee, Pacelli, Pittsville, Port Edwards, Spencer, Stratford, Stevens Point and Wisconsin Rapids Lincoln.
The Male and Female Athlete of the Year awards will be announced in early July, and will be selected by MarshfieldAreaSports.com and Zaleski Sports staff.
Winners of the monthly award, and a Male and Female Athlete of the Year, will be presented an award.
Nominations should be e-mailed to MarshfieldAreaSports.com publisher Paul Lecker at paul@marshfieldareasports.com prior to the 25th of each month. Nominations should include specific statistics and/or reasons on why that athlete deserves to be the Athlete of the Month. MarshfieldAreaSports.com will select up to a maximum of eight athletes each month for online voting.
Voting for the award takes place early in the following month. The winner will be determined by the most votes cast for that athlete online at MarshfieldAreaSports.com. Votes are limited to one per IP address, per 24-hour period.
All decisions regarding eligibility and voting by MarshfieldAreaSports.com and Zaleski Sports are final.
Winners of the monthly awards are not eligible to be nominated again during that sports season in which they won.
Winners of the awards during the 2024-25 school year thus far are: Abbotsford football player Christian Fuentes (September), Stratford volleyball player Kalyn Schueller (October), Marshfield girls basketball player Zaida Kolbeck (November), Spencer boys basketball player Sam Bezlyk (December), Auburndale girls basketball player Myah Katzenberger (January) and Marshfield wrestler Ava Gardner (February).
Come back to this page each month to cast your vote for the High School Athlete of the Month. Voting for the March award will be from April 1-7.
