Auburndale volleyball sweeps Pittsville to improve to 2-0 in Marawood South

PITTSVILLE – The Auburndale volleyball team won its second straight Marawood Conference South Division match to start the season, sweeping Pittsville 3-0 on Tuesday night at Pittsville High School.

The Apaches won 25-16, 25-17, 25-9, to improve to 12-1 overall and 2-0 in the Marawood South. The match was Pittsville’s first of the season in the conference.

Shannon Yahnke had nine kills and Camille Swart added seven for the Apaches. Kendra Kundinger had 20 assists and nine digs, Hannah Castellano had a team-high 10 digs and Auburndale had 13 service aces, including four by Swart.

Auburndale hosts its annual tournament on Saturday.
