Marshfield freshman football team drops home game vs. Wausau East

MARSHFIELD – Trevor Smith rushed for 189 yards and two touchdowns but Marshfield lost its freshman football game to Wausau East 28-16 on Thursday at Marshfield High School.

Smith had scoring runs of 27 and 50 yards for the Tigers (2-1).

Jared Klein had a two-point pass to Zach Schmidt and Grant Michaelis threw another conversion to Derek Michalski as well for Marshfield.

Smith finished with 189 yards on just 12 carries and Braden Bohman had 12 carries for 116 yards for the Tigers’ offense.

Defensively, Jon Wittman, Connor Peterson, Jacob Brueggen and Trenton Smith led Marshfield in tackles.

The Marshfield freshmen play at Wausau West next Thursday, Sept. 19, at 4 p.m.
