AUBURNDALE – Auburndale wasted little time dispatching of Prentice/Rib Lake, scoring seven first half touchdowns on its way to a 61-6 rout in a Marawood Conference football game Friday at Auburndale High School.
Wyatt Weiler ran for two touchdowns and caught a 67-yard TD pass from Blake Anderson, and Anderson hit Matt Nikolay with another scoring later in the half as Auburndale raced out to a 48-6 lead by halftime.
Weiler piled up 156 yards rushing on just nine carries and Jake Lewis added 66 yards and two scores for the Apaches (2-2 overall and Marawood Conference).
Anderson completed 10 of 13 passes for 191 yards and the two touchdowns, and Nikolay finished with eight catches for 145 yards.
Overall, Auburndale outgained the Hawks 513-134 and held Prentice/Rib Lake to just six first downs.
Auburndale plays at Chequamegon next Friday.
