STEVENS POINT – The Marshfield girls golf team edged Osseo-Fairchild by four strokes and the Tigers’ Molly Field finished in a three-way tie for meet medalist honors Tuesday at the fifth leg of the Clover Valley Golf League Tournament at Stevens Point Country Club.
Field tied Amanda Pederson of Osseo-Fairchild and Hannah Otteveare of Eau Claire Regis for first place with a 46, and all four Tigers finished in the top 12 as they shot a team score of 200. Osseo-Fairchild was second with a 204, with Stevens Point third with a 220.
Jordyn Fitzgerald and Ana Jensen tied fifth with 50s, and Macy Fitzgerald was 12th with a 54 for Marshfield.
Marshfield has finished first three times and second twice at the five Clover Valley meets thus far.
Field pulled to within a point of Pederson for the overall conference lead, Jensen is in a tie for fifth and Jordyn Fitzgerald is seventh. Marshfield now has 66 points, seven ahead of Osseo-Fairchild with two conference meets remaining – next Tuesday at home at Marshfield Country Club and Sept. 26 at Eau Claire Regis.
