COLBY – Marisa Johnson stuffed the stat sheet for Spencer, finishing with 12 kills, three service aces and 20 digs to help lift the Rockets to a 3-0 sweep of Colby in a Cloverbelt Conference East Division volleyball match Tuesday at Colby High School.

Spencer won the match 25-11, 25-9, 25-18, to improve to 2-0 in the conference and drop Colby to 0-2.

Tynae Phillips added nine kills, Macie Weber had eight service aces and three blocks, setter Brooke Kettleborough had 27 assists and Lindsey Vaughan led the Rockets’ defense with 27 digs.

“It was a fun team night, everyone contributed to the win,” Spencer coach Buff Heller said. “We really controlled the serving game and net play all night. Johnson and Vaughan were solid on defense…they didn’t let much drop.”

Spencer plays at Marshfield Columbus Catholic in a conference match at 7:15 p.m. Thursday.
