WESTON – The three Marshfield doubles teams swept its matches in straight sets, leading the Tigers to a 4-3 win over D.C. Everest in a Wisconsin Valley Conference girls tennis dual meet Tuesday at D.C. Everest High School.
The win is the Tigers’ first of the season in the Valley (1-2), and knocks D.C. Everest to 2-2.
Marshfield’s No. 1 doubles team of Jenny Madden and Emily Serchen, and No. 2 team of Olivia Haessly and Emily Seidel each won 6-3, 6-1, and the No. 3 team of Martha Kupfer and Autumn Packard won 6-4, 6-4 for the Tigers.
Marshfield got its other win from No. 4 singles player Krishna Patel, who beat Taylor Melk 6-4, 6-2.
Marshfield hosts Wausau West on Thursday at Boson Courts starting at 4 p.m.
