EAU CLAIRE – The Marshfield girls golf team finished off its first conference championship season by finishing second at the final leg of the Clover Valley Golf League tournament on Thursday at Eau Claire Country Club.
For the second straight leg of the meet, Osseo-Fairchild edged the Tigers by one stroke, but the second-place finish was enough for Marshfield to wrap up the overall conference title.
Marshfield finished with 90 points, placing first or second in all seven of the meets. O-F was second with 87 points, with Stevens Point third.
Shania Steen of Osseo-Fairchild was meet medalist, shooting a 42 to edge Marshfield’s Macy Fitzgerald by one stroke.
Amanda Pederson of O-F tied for third with a 44 and ended up winning the overall individual championship.
O-F shot a 191, one shot ahead of Marshfield. Stevens Point was third with a 200.
Jordyn Fitzgerald was sixth Thursday for Marshfield with a 46. Ana Jensen shot a 51 and Molly Field had a 52 to round out the Tigers’ scoring.
Field ended up tying for second and Jordyn Fitzgerald finished fifth in the overall individual standings, earning first-team all-conference honors. Jensen was sixth and Macy Fitzgerald eighth, and were named second-team all-Clover Valley.
Marshfield will compete in the WIAA Division 1 regional at Stevens Point Country Club on Wednesday.
