WESTON – Marshfield won three events and had three second-place finishes, but fell to D.C. Everest 111-59 in a Wisconsin Valley Conference dual meet Thursday at D.C. Everest High School.
Sarah Claessens won the 200 freestyle (2:14.44), Elizabeth Holbrook (2:32.52) took first in the 200 individual medley, and Karen Scheuer (1:12.07) won the 100 backstroke for the Tigers.
Holbrook was second in the 100 breaststoke, Anna Hilbelink was runner-up in the 100 butterfly and Walker Guzowski took second in the 50 freestyle for Marshfield.
“We had some great swim but in the end we didn’t have the depth to bring in the 3rd, 4th and 5th place finishes,” Marshfield coach Faye Egger said.
Marshfield returns to the pool next Thursday at home against Wisconsin Rapids.
