STEVENS POINT – Marshfield’s No. 2 doubles team of sophomore Olivia Haessly and senior Emily Seidel were the only sectional qualifier for the Tigers at the WIAA Division 1 girls tennis subsectional on Monday at Stevens Point Area Senior High.
Haessly and Seidel improved to 18-8 to reach the sectional by virtue of finishing in the top-two at the subsectional.
Haessly and Seidel will compete at the Division 1 sectional meet Thursday at Eau Claire Memorial. The Tigers’ duo must win the No. 2 doubles bracket to reach next week’s WIAA State Individual Girls Tennis Tournament in Madison.
The top four finishers in No. 1 singles and No. 1 doubles, and the winners of the No. 2 singles and doubles move on to the state individual tournament.
