MOSINEE – The Spencer volleyball team swept Wisconsin Valley Lutheran 3-0 in a nonconference match Thursday.
The Rockets won 25-12, 25-12, 25-13, behind a balanced attack. Marisa Johnson had seven kills and three aces, Macie Weber had six kills and two blocks, Brooke Kettleborough had 16 assists and four aces, and Lindsey Vaughan had 30 digs for Spencer.
The Rockets, the East Division champion, finish the regular season with the first-place match of the Cloverbelt Conference crossover again West Division champ Eau Claire Regis on Oct. 17 at Regis.
“It was a nice win to end the regular season…hopefully we take the momentum into the playoffs,” Spencer coach Buff Heller said. “We have some huge matches coming up. They just need to keep enjoying what they are doing. They should be proud of what they have done so far, but know they are not done.”
