WISCONSIN RAPIDS – Keegan Crowley scored 4:56 into the game and Marshfield couldn’t get anything past goalie Dylan Griesbach as Wisconsin Rapids downed the Tigers 2-0 in the Wisconsin Valley Conference boys soccer season finale Thursday.

Austin Schulze added a goal for the Raiders (9-8-2, 7-4-1 Wisconsin Valley Conference) 17:09 into the second half to provide the final margin.

Marshfield, which clinched the WVC championship with a win on Tuesday, ends its regular season with a 16-4-2 record and a 9-3 mark in the Valley.

“We controlled the ball well in the first half creating several scoring chances,” Marshfield coach Ron Todryk said. “It was one of those days if the ball would of been six inches one way we would of scored three goals and if the player would of gotten a foot on the ball we would of scored two more.”

Matt Brown had six saves in goal for Marshfield.

“Brown has played well for us all year,” Todryk said. “Some of the saves he has made this year to keep us in games or on the winning side belong on a highlight show.”

The Tigers host a WIAA Division 2 regional semifinal on Tuesday against Antigo. The game will be at Griese Park and begin at 4 p.m.
