Stratford slot back/defensive back Eli Temanson was named the Back of the Year and offensive lineman/defensive end Caleb Bryant was picked as the Lineman of the Year as the 2013 All-Marawood Conference Football Team was announced recently.
Temanson was a first-team pick at both flanker/slot back and defensive back, and Bryant was a first-team choice at offensive line and defensive end/outside linebacker for the Tigers, who tied Marathon and Edgar for the Marawood Conference championship with 6-1 records.
Temanson rushed for 583 yards, had 10 catches for 177 yards and scored 14 touchdowns, including one on a punt return.
Also named to the first team for Stratford were Hunter Kaufman at end/outside linebacker, inside linebacker Davis Drews and punter Jake Reif. Kaufman was also an honorable mention choice at offensive line, Drews was a second-team pick at running back and Reif earned second-team honors at defensive back.
Reif and Temanson were among the six players in the conference that tied for the interception lead with five.
Auburndale quarterback Blake Anderson and flanker/slot backs Isaac Castellano and Matthew Nikolay, and defensive lineman Nick Larsh were first-team selections for the Apaches, who finished 4-4 in the conference.
Anderson topped the conference in passing, throwing for 1,433 yards and completing 65.3 percent of his passes. He threw 10 touchdowns and had 10 interceptions.
Nikolay topped all receivers with 43 catches for 773 yards and seven touchdowns. Castellano was second with 27 receptions for 377 yards and he had two TDs.
