HUDSON – Marshfield’s season came to an end with a 12th-place finish at the 2013 WIAA Division 1 Girls Swimming & Diving Sectional at Hudson High School on Saturday.
The Tigers totaled 46 points to finish ahead of just La Crosse Logan/Central in the team standings, which were won by Wausau East.
The winner in each event, and the next best 18 finishers in each event across all six of the Division 1 sectionals in Wisconsin, move on to next weekend’s 2013 WIAA State Girls Swimming Championships at the UW Natatorium in Madison.
Marshfield had a number of solid performances, but had no individuals finish better than 10th in an event.
Sarah Claessens had the Tigers’ lone top-10 finish, taking 10th in the 100 freestyle in 57.85 seconds. She also placed 14th in the 200 free (2:31.42).
Elizabeth Holbrook took 13th in the 200 individual medley (2:31.42) and Anna Hilbelink was 14th in the 100 butterfly (1:09.39) for Marshfield’s other top finishes.
