MARSHFIELD – Marshfield High School senior Daulton Varsho will be playing NCAA Division I baseball at the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee next season.

Varsho signed a letter of intent last Wednesday to play for the Panthers and attend UW-Milwaukee on a scholarship next fall.

Varsho was a unanimous first-team selection to the 2013 All-Wisconsin Valley Conference Baseball Team as a catcher. He finished sixth in the league in batting average (.405) and leading the Valley in doubles (eight), home runs (three) and runs scored (19).

Varsho was a second-team all-conference pick as a sophomore and an honorable mention choice as a freshman in 2011.

Overall, Varsho has a .356 career batting average with nine home runs, 23 stolen bases and 75 runs scored in three seasons for the Tigers.

Varsho also was a first-team all-Valley Football Association choice this past season as both a safety and a return specialist, and earned first-team all-state honors as a defensive back by the Wisconsin Football Coaches Association.

Varsho will join the UW-Milwaukee team for the 2015 season. The Panthers won the Horizon League regular-season title in 2013 with a 14-7 record and finished 29-21 overall.
