Auburndale boys basketball blasts Edgar

AUBURNDALE – The Auburndale boys basketball team ripped off 47 first-half points and cruised to a 63-21 victory over Edgar in a Marawood Conference South Division contest Thursday night at Auburndale High School.

The Apaches (3-0 overall, 2-0 Marawood South) led 20-7 after the first quarter and 47-17 at halftime on the way to the blow-out victory.

Auburndale made 8 of 20 shots from 3-point range and were 24 of 46 overall.

Blake Anderson hit 5 of 10 shots from long-range and finished with a game-high 21 points, equaling Edgar’s total.

Matt Nikolay added 13 points and five rebounds, and Zach Staats had 12 points for Auburndale.

The Apaches hosts Wisconsin Rapids Assumption on Tuesday.
