SPENCER – Spencer outscored Loyal by 23 points in the first half and rolled to a 73-46 victory in a Cloverbelt Conference East Division boys basketball matchup Friday night at Spencer High School.
The Rockets led 17-7 after the first quarter and ripped off a 25-12 advantage in the second to lead 42-19 at halftime.
Spencer had a solid offensive performance, shooting 50.9 percent (29 of 57) overall, 10 of 12 at the free throw line and 5 of 8 from 3-point range.
Mitchell Susa hit 3 of 4 3-pointers and had a game-high 17 points and seven rebounds for the Rockets, who improve to 4-1 overall and in the Cloverbelt East after their second straight victory.
Loyal falls to 1-4 overall and in the conference.
Jeremiah Cattanach added 12 points, Joe Meyers had 11 and Calvin Lenz chipped in 10 for Spencer.
Alex Schuette led Loyal with 12 points.
Spencer’s next game is Thursday at Neillsville.
