WAUPACA – Nell Eichten scored with 19 seconds remaining to lift the Marshfield girls hockey team to a 3-2 win over Waupaca in a Great Northern Conference matchup Friday night at the Waupaca Expo Center.
Marshfield snaps a four-game losing streak and improves to 2-7 overall and 2-3 in the GNC. Waupaca is now 1-10 and 1-4 in the conference.
Morgan Larson and Kaylee Geiger scored to put Marshfield up 2-1 midway through the third period.
Brianne Huettner scored for Waupaca at the 7:28 mark to tie it before Eichten’s game-winner late.
Geiger and Larson also had assists for the Tigers.
Alexis Straughan had 30 saves in goal for Marshfield.
Marshfield’s next scheduled game is Monday at home against Lakeland. The game may be postponed as many schools are cancelling classes due to impending cold weather. MarshfieldAreaSports.com will have an update if the game is postponed.
