AUBURNDALE – Josh VanShoick scored 17 points to lead the Auburndale boys basketball team to a 61-35 nonconference win over Baraboo on Saturday afternoon at Auburndale High School.
Auburndale came back from its first loss of the season (50-43 to Waupaca last Saturday) to win the home game against Baraboo (2-6), which is coached by former Auburndale standout player Brian Bauer. The Apaches are now 8-1.
Auburndale started quickly, piling up a 32-18 lead by halftime and pushing it to 46-25 after three quarters.
Blake Anderson added 14 points and Zach Staats chipped in with 12 for the Apaches.
No player scored more than six points for Baraboo.
Auburndale hosts Marathon on Tuesday in a battle of Marawood Conference South Division leaders. Both teams stand at 5-0 in the conference.
