Three players score two goals each as Marshfield girls hockey blasts Lakeland

MARSHFIELD – Morgan Larson, Kaylee Geiger and Molly Schuster each scored twice, and Alexis Staughan saved 19 of 20 shots in goal as the Marshfield girls hockey team won its second straight game, defeating Lakeland 7-1 in a Great Northern Conference matchup Thursday at the Marshfield Youth Ice Recreation Arena.

Kessa Schreiner scored in the first period for the Tigers, then Larson had two goals and Geiger added another to put Marshfield up 4-0.

Schuster knocked in both of her goals in the third period and Geiger added another as the Tigers rolled to the victory.

Thursday’s game was a make-up for a game that was postponed on Monday. The Tigers return to action Friday at Medford.

Marshfield improves to 3-7 overall and evens its record at 3-3 in the Great Northern Conference. Lakeland drops to 4-8 and 1-5 in the GNC.
