MARSHFIELD – Colby outscored Marshfield Columbus Catholic 12-4 in the third quarter to open up a double-digit lead and went on to defeat the Dons 39-30 in a Cloverbelt Conference East Division girls basketball game Friday night at Columbus Catholic High School.
Colby led 20-15 at halftime before opening up a 13-point lead after three quarters.
Columbus outscored the Hornets 11-7 in the fourth quarter but couldn’t make a serious push at the lead.
Hannah Kruse scored eight points for Columbus (5-4, 3-3 Cloverbelt East).
Colby is now 4-4 and 3-3 in the conference.
Columbus hosts Augusta on Monday.
