MEDFORD – Kaylee Geiger scored twice and added an assist to lift the Marshfield girls hockey team to a 6-0 blanking of Medford in a Great Northern Conference game Friday night at Simek Recreation Center.
The win is the Tigers’ third in a row as they improve to 4-7 overall and 4-3 in the conference. Medford remains winless at 0-10 and 0-6 in the GNC.
Geiger, Kessa Schreiner and Morgan Larson each scored in the first period as the Tigers opened up a 3-0 lead.
Molly Schuster and Patti Jo Bloczynski both had goals in the second period and Geiger added another in the third for Marshfield.
Alexis Straughan only had to save 12 shots in goal for Marshfield as it outshot Medford 49-12.
The Tigers play Point/Rapids at Ice Hawks Arena in Stevens Point at 7 p.m. Monday.
