WESTON – Dondrick Tackes won the 195-pound championship and was one of four titleists for Stratford as the Tigers wrestling team finished third at the Fred Lehrke Evergreen Invitational on Saturday at D.C. Everest High School.
Tackes won the Most Valuable Wrestler award of the tournament after going 5-0 and beating Jake Reiter of Clintonville 3-2 in the championship match to improve to 19-1 on the season.
Also winning titles for Stratford were Anthony Gliniecki at 113 pounds, Kameron Bornbach at 182 and Hunter Kauffman at 220.
Alex Heiden was second at 132 and Phil Sersch (126) and Brice Murray (285) finished third for Stratford.
Auburndale also competed at the tournament and finished sixth among the eight teams.
Paul Willfahrt (138) and Wyatt Weiler (160) each finished second for Auburndale.
