STEVENS POINT – Point/Rapids scored three times in the second period and went on to defeat Marshfield 4-1 in a Great Northern Conference girls hockey match Monday at Ice Hawks Arena.
Kaylee Bruneau scored twice in the period for the Red Panthers as they pulled ahead.
Marshfield’s only goal came from Nell Eichten with 4:31 remaining.
Alexis Staughan had 29 saves in goal for the Tigers, who saw their three-game win streak snapped and fall to 4-8 overall and 4-4 in the Great Northern Conference.
Point/Rapids is now 7-5-2 and 6-1 in the GNC.
Marshfield is off until Saturday when it plays a nonconference game at Hudson.
