Stratford wrestling team wins nine matches by forfeit, routs Pittsville

STRATFORD – The Stratford wrestling team remained perfect in the Marawood Conference with a 70-12 rout of Pittsville in a dual meet Thursday night at Stratford High School.

Stratford (4-0 Marawood) won 12 of the 14 matches, nine by forfeit as it defeated a depleted Pittsville squad.

In the five matches that were wrestled, Stratford earned three pins and Pittsville two.

Winning by pin for the Tigers were Anthony Gliniecki at 120 pounds, Phil Sersch at 132 and Dondrick Tackes at 195.

Adam Sturgis (145) and Kaleb Meyer (160) won by pin for the Panthers.

Stratford hosts Abbotsford/Colby on Tuesday.
