Columbus Catholic girls basketball storms past Gilman

GILMAN – A 22-9 fourth quarter lifted the Marshfield Columbus Catholic girls basketball team to a 55-42 road win at Gilman in Cloverbelt Conference East Division action on Thursday night.

Columbus and Gilman were tied at 33-33 after three quarters before the Dons dominated the final 8 minutes to pull out the win and end a three-game losing streak.

Columbus Catholic improves to 6-5 overall and 4-4 in the Cloverbelt East, while Gilman drops to 2-7 and 1-6 in the conference.

Jessica Trad had 14 points and Abby Baierl chipped in with 11 to top the Dons.

Desiree Budzinski scored 11 points for Gilman.

Columbus Catholic plays at Augusta on Tuesday.
