AUBURNDALE – Paiton Richardson recorded a double-double, scoring 16 points and grabbing 10 rebounds, to lead the Auburndale girls basketball team to a 58-37 win over Edgar in a Marawood Conference South Division matchup Thursday night at Auburndale High School.
Auburndale rolled out to a 16-3 lead after the first quarter and put the game away with a 19-10 run in the fourth. The Apaches improve to 6-6 overall and 4-2 in the Marawood South with the victory. Edgar falls to 2-9 and 1-5 in the conference.
Taylor Gotz added 13 points, eight rebounds and four steals for the Apaches.
Edgar was just 12 of 43 from the field in the loss. Tianna Borchardt led the Wildcats with eight points.
Auburndale plays at Northland Lutheran next Tuesday.
