Auburndale girls basketball blasts Pittsville

PITTSVILLE – The Auburndale girls basketball team overwhelmed Pittsville with a strong first half and rolled to a 67-29 victory on Thursday night at Pittsville High School.

The Apaches outscored Pittsville 23-6 in the first quarter and led 38-15 by halftime on their way to the 38-point win.

Taylor Gotz led Auburndale with 21 points, Brianna Meyer added 12 and Shannon Yahnke had 11 as the Apaches improve to 8-7 overall and 5-3 in the Marawood South.

Laura Ewer had 11 points for Pittsville (5-10, 2-7 Marawood South).

Auburndale is back in action Tuesday at home against Marathon.
